The Good Food Guide 2013

The Good Food Guide 2013 says of the Whitehouse:

"A cosy, rstic-chic space with sturdy pine furniture, lavender painted walls, an abundance of fresh flowers and lots of evening candle light, it feels like a home from home but offers cooking with a sense of occasion.  The wide open kitchenallows some tables a viewof the action:  here scallops are roasted and served in a velvety cauliflower veloute,  just caught plaice is teamed with surf clam, butter, tender asparagus, leeks and pureed potato and luxuriantly creamy ric pudding is coupled with tart fall-apart rhubarb"

The Good Food Guide 2013

We are delighted to be listed in the Good Food Guide this year.  You can check out the entry on line but this is waht they said about us

Local fare with harbour views

Not far from the ferry at Lochalline, The Whitehouse makes the most of coastal ingredients but stops short of being a seafood restaurant, preferring to focus on the full gamut of ingredients available locally.  A cosy rustic-chic space with sturdy pine furniture, lavender painted walls, an abundance of fresh flowers and lots of evening candlelight, it feels like a home from home but offers cooking with a sense of occasion. The wide open kitchen allows some tables a view of the action; here scallops are roasted and served in a velvety caulifower veloute; just caught plaice is teamed with surf clams, butter tender asparagus, leeks and pureed potato; and luxuriantly creamy rice pudding is coupled with tart fall-apart rhubarb
