How to Find Us

From the Isle of Mull: Go to the Calmac Ferry terminal at Fishnish and take the Lochaline Ferry. The journey is twenty minutes long and there is a five minute walk up a modest hill to the our restaurant. You need to check the timetable if you plan to come to dinner and want to get back to Mull that night on the last ferry.

There is a licensed boat is available for hire to bring a party of diners from Salen to the Whitehouse. Please contact us for details.

In your own boat: We are a 10 minute walk from the sparkling new Lochaline pontoons (opened in June 2011 and owned by the community). The pontoons now have dazzling shore facilities showers, washing etc.  If we could we would move in tomorrow do come and check them out.  You  can contact the pontoon manager on 07583800500.

By car: from Fort William - take the A82 heading for Glasgow. After seven miles, turn right at the signs for the Corran Ferry.

From Oban - Take the A82 out of Oban, heading for Glasgow and Fort William and turn left at the signs for the Corran Ferry.

Take the Corran ferry (a five minute crossing at 1/4 to and 1/4 past the hour from the Corran side).

On disembarking, turn left onto the A861 and continue for approximately 12 miles, then turn left for Lochaline and Mull. Follow the stunning A884 for 22 miles until you reach Lochaline. In the village itself, there is a turning up to the right. The Whitehouse is 50 yards up on the right next to the shop.

By Bus: it is possible but you need to have a degree in bus timetables.
