Delicious and delicate - the quails that have been laying eggs for us are now on the menu themselves. Mike will pan roast them with the chanterelles collected this morning.

It has been a while scince I blogged. We have had an amazing season - thank you to everyone who has visited us and in particular everone who has taken the time to wrtie us up on Trip Advisor and Via Michelin. It makes a huge difference to us and is also vital in raising our profile.
The garden is overflowing with all sorts of salads and the soft fruits are winning the battle of the birds this year. I picked a huge crop of chanterelles yesterday. It is amazing what sushine can do!

Mike reports that "Fresh in thanks to Janette ( and her fella ,,James) some dog whelks, and a nice big ling off the Lochaline pier ,,, also on the menu this week , duck liver with green strawberry [from our garden] chutney ,, also velvet crabs from the loch .. summer berry and sauvignon iced punch to wash it down ..."
